About Us
Welcome to First Ave!
Located in the heart of Chilliwack BC, we are blessed to call this place home and feel it is our mandate to love and serve here well. Our online community transcends provinces and borders and is inclusive of people across the globe.
Whether you want to check us out in person or online, we invite you to take 30 seconds to tell us a bit about yourself!
Relationally
We know that life is better done together and that no one is meant to be alone. We prioritize the need to bond through deep and authentic relationships as a church family - where no one is perfect but all are welcome and loved, as God loves us.
Our desire is to see every person grow —
Spiritually
We are committed to equip, empower, and encourage all who call First Ave home. Through regular discipleship, devotions, and practical application, we strive to build not only our own faith, but the faith and lives of others at every level.
Missionally
We are a family that is selfless and intentional with our words, actions, and time. We are abundantly blessed through the sacrifice that Jesus made for us and it is our mission to operate as a family who exists to love, serve, and bless anybody.
-
Belonging to God and a community of faith, expressing a sincere love for those both inside and outside our circles of influence.
-
The calm delight knowing God has a unique purpose for each one of us; expressed fully through the various ministries, relationships, and opportunities given to us to overflow in our serving and inspiring those around us.
-
Being real about the unchanging need for all to know Christ; made relevant to others in their own cultural or generational context with the Bible as the bedrock of our beliefs, positions, and practices.
-
The willingness of personally offering time, abilities, and resources to further the unique work God has called us as a collective to accomplish.
-
Actively participating in the celebration and recognition of who God is, with the expressed desire for the Spirit of God to drive and direct us both as individuals and as a collective.
